Enjoy reddit on iOS
An iOS reddit client focused on casual browsing was a hard find. We created Beam to fill that gap and give something back to the community. Beam is focused on bringing reddit’s content center stage through a beautifully subtle interface.
To allow the content to shine, we kept Beam’s user interface to a minimum. By combining reddit’s familiar structure with the native patterns of iOS, little effort is required to consume reddit’s content. Through subtle use of color and iconography, we crafted an identity within the app without it becoming a distraction.
Subreddits are clearly organised and content is brought to the forefront through large inline media and beautiful typography. The addition of our first in-app purchase, the Display Pack, introduces innovative features such as a rich media view and night mode.
We launched Beam 2 - with much pride - in December of 2015. We are constantly working on new improvements that will keep Beam innovative. In addition to the Display Pack, two new packs are currently in production.
